Day 02 of Learning How To Type Faster In 30 Days

Today is the Day 02 of Learning How To Type Faster In 30 Days

Current Status

Current Typing Speed (WPM): 56 WPM

Accuracy Percentage: 85 to 90%

Any Milestone Reached? — Nope.

What Did I Do Today?

Today was a bit of a battle. I took 10 typing tests throughout the day—from morning to evening. My motivation dipped when I couldn’t even hit my Day 01 average of 58 WPM. I averaged out at 56 WPM, and yeah, it’s frustrating. But that’s part of the process, I guess.

I watched a tutorial on how to type faster. Nothing groundbreaking—most of it I already knew, but I haven’t been consciously applying it. The real game-changer, though? I started practicing Home Row typing.

It felt weird, honestly. My speed dropped by 50% because I had to break my usual typing pattern. Right now, as I’m typing this using the Home Row method, I can feel how slow I am. But there’s something satisfying about it. I’m finally using all 10 fingers—heck yeah!

Today my main focus is on writing like this i.e. writing in the home row style.

Reflection

What Felt Easier Today?

Honestly? Nothing. I was doing worse than yesterday. But watching that tutorial and starting with Home Row typing feels like the right direction. Even if it’s slow now, I can see the potential.

What Was Challenging?

Trying to keep my cool and not let the frustration get to me. I kept getting angry at myself for not hitting the numbers I wanted. Lol.

Learning

Did I Learn Something New Today?

Definitely.

  1. Hitting 60 WPM is going to take longer than I thought.
  2. My right hand is my weak spot—I need to train it more.

New Typing Tips or Tricks to Apply Tomorrow:

I’m going to double down on the Home Row typing style. It’s hard now, but I know it’s the way to go.

Tomorrow’s Goal

Typing Speed Goal (WPM):

I’m aiming to hit my Day 01 speed again—58 WPM—but if I can get 35 WPM using the Home Row method, I’ll be happy with that progress.

Focus Area:

Mastering the Home Row typing style and using the Control + Backspace shortcut to delete whole words faster.

So yeah, that’s Day 02 of 30. The journey continues, and even though today was tough, I’m sticking with it. I’ll see you tomorrow with more progress!
