Today is the Day 03 of Learning How To Type Faster In 30 Days

Current Status

Current Typing Speed (WPM): 60 WPM

Accuracy Percentage: >90%

Any Milestone Reached? — Finally hit 60 WPM! Hell yeah...

What Did I Do Today?

Today was a record-breaking day. I broke through all my previous barriers and absolutely crushed it. I practiced for a straight 40 minutes without even realizing the time. Honestly, it was so much fun. I was fully into it—didn’t even notice when those 40 minutes flew by.

Man, today was also full of ups and downs, but it ended on such a high note. The first test of the day—boom, 59 WPM. My reaction was priceless. I’d been feeling the frustration creeping in, like I wasn’t going to break through, and then BAM—59 WPM on the first try. The relief was real.

But then came the kicker… 60 WPM! The way I felt when I saw that number pop up on the screen—it’s like I was carrying this weight, and it just lifted. You can literally see it in the video—the pure relief.

And let me tell you, I had to laugh at myself later. At one point, I hit 51 WPM, and my reaction? I actually hit myself on the head like, Come on, man! Honestly, I was rolling with laughter. This challenge is so serious in my head, but there’s a funny side to it all, too.

Finally, after three tries, I hit the 60 WPM mark again. That was the sweet spot—breaking through the frustration and getting that score twice in one day. But I’m realizing that typing needs to happen in bursts. After a while, the frustration kicks in, and that’s when it’s time to step back and reset.

I’m really starting to get the hang of this home row typing style, and the best part? It’s not just working—it’s enjoyable. I didn’t expect to have this much fun while typing!

First, I got the “Turtle” title with a score of around 20-25 WPM. Then I leveled up to “T-Rex” with 30-35 WPM, and finally, I hit “Octopus” status—better than average!

Each title felt like a little victory, and I could feel the progress in real-time. Slowly but surely, I’m getting faster, and the home row style is becoming more natural.

After the initial practice, I did another 10 minutes, purely focusing on the home row style, and guess what? I hit a new personal record—43 WPM with the home row style alone. I felt like a finger monster (and yes, that sounds a little weird, but it’s true).

Reflection

What Felt Easier Today?

The home row style, for sure. It’s getting easier and smoother with every practice. I’m now clocking 43 WPM using all 10 fingers, and I’m officially faster than the average person in this method too. Let’s gooo!

With my regular fast typing style, I’m still solid at 60 WPM. The challenge now is to keep building on that foundation.

What Was Challenging?

One thing that stood out today—I realized my ring fingers are super weak. I really struggled with using them on certain keys, like “S” with my left hand and “L” with my right. It’s like my brain forgets those fingers exist when I’m typing fast.

Learning

Did I Learn Something New Today?

Yep! I’m really getting better at this home-row style. No tutorials today; I spent over an hour just practicing instead of watching more videos. It feels like I’m making real progress

New Typing Tips or Tricks to Apply Tomorrow:

I’m going to stick with the home row style and keep pushing myself to use it consciously. It’s paying off.

Tomorrow’s Goal

Typing Speed Goal (WPM):

I’m aiming to maintain 60 WPM tomorrow and hit it consistently. Once I do, I’ll update the main page with my progress.

Focus Area:

Definitely need to work on using my ring fingers more often. That’s the weak link right now.

So yeah, Day 03 was a wild ride of frustration, laughter, and little victories. But I’m moving forward, and I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings. More progress, more milestones—let’s go!
